From : Doncaster & Templestowe News, October 19th, 1980.

Doncaster
and Templestowe’ s Pegasus Moto Cycle Club has taken the relatively new sport
— bicycle moto cross — by storm.
Club members recently emerged champions at the first Victorian inter-club BMX meeting.
A total of 580 young people from 18 clubs throughout Victoria tried for the honor of winning the large two-metre
high trophy.

A spokesman, Mr Peter Howell, said he was pleased with the boys’ performance.
About 60 riders from the Pegasus club competed and their points were the highest aggregate of any club on the day.
Each competitor raced in four events down a 300 metre straight.

Mr howell said the meeting was looked upon as a form of Victorian championship.
The Pegasus club has about 150 members ranging in age up to 22, most are in the 16-year-old group.
