A “cross-up’, he explained at the newly-established BMX
track at the northern end of Koonung
Rd., Blackburn North,
was a jump in which the rider propelled the bike into the
air and changed direction by “crossing”.
Shaun, 19, and several other local Blackburn BMX riders
were guests on a recent GTV9
Don Lane show to demonstrate
riding techniques.
Shaun, who is a member of the "Crank and Chain"
BMX Club at Lalor will next weekend be competing in the Victorian
Age Plate titles for riders from throughout Victoria.
BMX riding, Shaun explains, caters for boys and girls from
the age of 5 to 21 and the new track at Blackburn North
is
proving very popular.
This is
what BMX (bicycle moto cross) riders call a “cross-up”.
