The Waverley
water wheels
From : The HERALD, March, 1981.
First you pedal a “motorcross”
bike like crazy up a ramp.
When in mid-air,
heave yourself into a somersault
and finish up in the drink, but safe.
Three riders — Ivan Vojlay,
Warren Cay and Steve Rodgers are the wet wheelmen of Glen Waverly.
They
built a 1.5 metre wooden ramp
to use In their jumps.
After each session they strip and oil their bikes to protect
against rust.
Their next feat — they hope will
be to jump over a row of cars . . . on bicycles.
The three “divers” are Ivan Vojlay,
16, left, Warren Cay, 16, and Steve Rodgers, 18.
They planned the idea for two months.
How
to make a big splash
in the bicycle
world.
